Spelling command (Tools menu)
Use this command to launch the spell checker tool. This option is enabled when a text edit field has current input focus.
When you selct this option, a dialog displays a possible error, such as a misspelled word. Edit the text in this box to correct it, and then click Change, or click the correct word in the Suggestions box and then click Change.
Also displayed is a list of suggested corrections for the highlighted spelling error. The suggested replacement words are from the main dictionary and the custom dictionaries.
The Options dialog box allows you to change the rules used to check spelling. The following options are available:
General tab:
- Check spelling as you type - Checks spelling automatically and marks errors as you type.
- Ignore words in UPPERCASE - Ignores words in UPPERCASE letters during a spelling check.
- Ignore words with numbers - Ignores words that contain numbers during a spelling check.
- Ignore internet and file addresses - Select this check box if you want the spell checker to automatically ignore internet addresses, file names, and electronic mail addresses during a spelling check. For example, select this check box to ignore http://www.exhibitonesoftware.com during a spelling check.
User Dictionary tabs:
- Dictionary Contents - Allows you to add your own words to the spell checker.
- Common Misspellings - Allows you to add common misspellings to the spell checker.
